The Cathedral to Castle 10 Mile Multi Terrain Run – or ‘Cathedral to Castle’ is a multi-terrain event which uses the roads, paths, tracks and canal towpaths to take a varied route between Lichfield and Tamworth. The course was fast and relatively flat; the route started in Beacon Park and headed out past Cathedral Close before leaving Lichfield by going down Darnford Lane. Runners then took local paths around Whittington Heath and went round Hopwas Woods and onto the canal path until Hopwas village. There was then a short section on roads before runners entered Wiggington Park in Tamworth. The final section of the race took runners through the streets and into Tamworth Castle Grounds.
