Kelli Boyde took part in this 26 mile event exploring Britain’s second city from a new perspective.
This route was circular starting and finishing at Ackers Adventure Centre. Taking in the Cole Valley Way, Stratford on Avon Canal, Birmingham and Worcester Canal, Birmingham Wolverhampton Main Line Canal and Soho Loop, Fazeley Canal and returning via the Grand Union Canal.
Runners passed Sarehole Mill (inspiration to Tolkien’s Middle Earth), Gas Street Basin, Brindley Place and under Spaghetti Junction. 97% of the route was off road with very few crossings, no stiles and hardly any ascent or descent !
Results for The Worcester City 10k – 20.9.15
One Massey’s runner took park in this event, with Worcester Racecourse providing the backdrop for the start and finish of this 10k. The route took runners over the River Severn and on a loop around Cripplegate Park, after crossing the river the course then passed the Museum of Royal Worcester and headed towards Worcester cathedral. The route then went past Diglis Dock crossed the river once more. At 9k you headed back past Worcestershire County Cricket ground, under the viaduct and on to the finish line.

One Massey’s runner took park in this event. The Shrewsbury Severn Bridges Road Race is an annual sporting event that takes runners on a unique course across the seven bridges in the town.
