Results for the Shindig in the Shire Marathon – 18.5.19
Set under the backdrop of the Clee Hills, this route left the Sun Brewery in the village of Corfton, and climbed upwards via grassy tracks and open farmland to Pinstones before dropping down through ancient woodland towards Westhope. The runners then followed an old bridle way that crossed a ford before climbing up onto Wenlock Edge. Wenlock Edge is an 18 mile stretch of ancient woodland that was once a coral reef with bluebells and wild garlic. The course then took in a section of the Edge before dropping up and down to Flounder’s Folly and joining more bridle ways to the final descent of the brewery. Full Marathon runners got to enjoy the scenery once again on their second lap.
