Kenilworth Half Marathon – 1.9.19

Race Report by Brian Boyle

This year saw the inaugural two lap course make its debut. Number pick up was available on the day before from the Holiday Inn. Car parks on race day filled up quite early, and then all lined up ready for the start in the Main Street.

A quick briefing and away we went, first loop through Kenilworth Castle then through the suburbs off to the countryside via Leek Wooton. Lap 2 missed out the castle and the hills at 8 & 11 mile definitely bit harder the second time.

Grandstand finish in the main road with very good local support around the route. Portaloos at the start too. Really nice medal and a high quality long sleeve technical shirt, two tickets to the first game of the season for Wasps Rugby and a water bottle and a protein wafer that was nicer than expected.

A really good event.
