Well this was the last of the 5 race series that started in October 2024 and as always loads of runners enter it and there are always 5 runs in the series.
This one was clockwise and as always on this one the uphill is almost vertical so walking was the only way to get up to the top! For me anyway (as always).
I started early with 2 Massey ladies before the main run started and I was on my own for all the race and I did come in 1st so not a bad day. Mind you the results show me in the last position (329 out of 329 runners) but I did finish FIRST as no one passed me on route! Mind you the 2 Massey ladies that I did run with from the start finished behind me but in the results they are in front of me!! Maybe I gave the wrong time to the man on the finish bench but who cares? It was a super event (as always) so huge thanks to the organisers Sarah and Bob from Tempo Events. Look forward to the same series starting in October 2025 and the entries are now open so let us all make the entries now as they do get very full.
The course today was very hilly but there were not too many cars or bikes so all was enjoyable and fairly quiet so no real problems (except the nearly vertical hill in the 1st half-a real killer!). So a slow walk up this hill was the only way to get to the top of the vertical part.
Also many thanks to Sarah and Rob who gave me race number 1 again (but I don’t come 1st).
Then at the finish everyone had a packet of sausages plus the super black and very warm track suit top that kept us all warm when it was put on, Also there were photos taken by Bob at the end of a bunch of runners who put their black tops on so hopefully Bob will put this on the Tempo site for us to see. Well done again Bob who also handed out the trophies to all the age group winners of ladies and men of all different ages. Great final event so I look forward to the next series in October so let’s all sign in ASAP.
