This was a new event based at the National Water Sports Centre just outside of Nottingham.  This was a flat course with minimal twists and turns and runners completed 2 x 5km laps of the regatta lake and alongside the canoe slalom/white water rapids which is home to some of Great Britain’s Olympic athletes.  A tough windy wet day made this race a real challenge.
