Results for the “In Flanders Fields” Peace Marathon – 11.9.16
The Flanders Fields Marathon runs through the flat landscape of the Westhoek, Belgium with its historical heritage from World War One. The route sets off in Nieuwpoort and follows the River Ijzer/Yser towards Diksmuide and passes the historic battlefields and finally arrives at the historic town of Leper/Ypres. This marathon is also called the “Marathon for Peace” the route goes along the exact border of the front line of the First World War and ends on Leper where battles took place.

Results for the Great North Run – 11.9.16
11 Massey Runners took part in the largest half-marathon in the world with more than 57,000 runners taking part. Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne the 13.1 mile route took runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where runners crossed over the iconic Tyne Bridge, where if you were lucky you got a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing overhead. Runners then traveled through Gateshead towards South Shields where they ran along the sea front for the final one mile.

Results for the Wirral Half-marathon – 11.9.16
This half-marathon and 10k is a point to point race Starting in Birkenhead Park this flat course follows a path through the Birkenhead Docks to the River Mersey promenade at the Seacombe Ferry and then on to New Brighton. At the Marine Point retail park, the 10K runners peeled off to the finish while the half marathon continued along the Wirral coastline as far as the Leasowe Castle Hotel where they loop back and return to the finish line on Coastal Drive.

Results for the Stratford’s Big 10k – 11.9.16
This race started at the Stratford Recreation Ground and headed out onto the Shipston Road. The route headed along Clifford Lane and onto Milcote Road passing the halfway point and then turned right onto the infamous Greenway. Runners ran all the way down the Greenway along past the Racecourse along a path which took them to the river, past Lucy’s Mill Bridge and on up to Holy Trinity Church. There was a slightly downhill finish past the Courtyard Theatre and the famous RSC Theatre with the finish in Bancroft Gardens.

This race started from King Edward VI Leisure Centre, and was described as an undulating course with some hills between 4k and 7k, it is run mainly on quiet country lanes and finished on the local cricket field.

This race had 5 race distance options, all routes started from the New Park Showground, Brockenhurst and wound through the heart of the New Forest National Park. This multi-terrain course offered some of the most scenic running experiences in the country, with a blend of forest enclosures, open road, stunning views and New Forest ponies !
