Well what a great event again and it was the 4th in the series of 5 with the last one on 16/02/25. So well done again to the super organisers Rob and Sarah from Tempo Events who do many races over the year.
There were 334 runners yesterday and as usual I started earlier than most others so that the organisers don’t have to wait for ages for me to finish! In fact I started early and was the 3rd to cross the finish line!
It was anti clockwise yesterday and the very high point at the top was very hard and almost vertical and about 3.5k from the start. In fact much of this needed fast walking as running was very difficult.
Then at the top (the highest place for all counties around) it was a downhill run to the bottom at about 5.5k so this was much easier than getting up to the top.
From the bottom for the next c5k it was quite flat and through Ilmington for most of the journey and was really pleasant and some of the roads were closed to traffic as they were being repaired so it was traffic free and very safe.
Finally the end was in sight and I was still 1st but then a couple sprinted past me who were 1st and 2nd. That’s why I always start early so that I don’t keep the organisers up for too long!
Then as usual all finishers had a bag of sausages which are always really nice so roll on February for the final sausages plus the track suit top that all finishers will get for doing the series.
Also well done the 16 Massey runners and hopefully we will meet again there on 16/02/25.
