I finally managed to do the Blaydon Race in Newcastle upon Tyne at 7.30pm on the ninth of Joon, (as they say up there). It is dominated by local club runners. The atmosphere is great and the race is more iconic than scenic. A lot of duel carriageways. The bell goes and a guy sang ‘The Blaydon Races’ as we all set off. The weather was awful which accounted for 500 not starting. There were about 5000 runners. Would I do it again. Wae ae man.
