So today saw a return to the Down in a Shot 10k event in Derbyshire. A cool and overcast start was welcome before the sun came out at the finish, so conditions were ideal, with obviously a completely dry course through the Peak District scenery. This year I managed to not go off course and made it down the hill first in the over 50s, seventh overall and my first sub 40 in 39:52.7.
Sonia Karamat also picked up her age category trophy and the all important winner’s beer. Great to meet up with Peter as well, who didn’t get a trophy but was.well under his target time.
I can also recommend the on site cafe, who coped manfully with the huge influx of race finishers.
