6 Massey Runners took part in the largest half-marathon in the world with more than 57,000 runners taking part. Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne the 13.1 mile route took runners through the city centre towards the River Tyne where runners crossed over the iconic Tyne Bridge, where if you were lucky you got a glimpse of the Red Arrows passing overhead.
Runners then travelled through Gateshead towards South Shields where they ran along the sea front for the final one mile. A hot September day and huge crowds made this a very warm but enjoyable event to take part in.

..I hope you enjoyed the week-end. Are those bottles on the table your well deserved post-race drinks?

It was essential to rehydrate Martin on a warm day! The publicans of South Sheilds will probably be holidaying in the Bahamas soon on the profits from yesterday !
