Results for the London Marathon – 24.4.16

16 Massey runners headed to London for this iconic marathon, with many more Massey runners supporting along the route and watching (and spotting colleagues) on the TV at home !

There were some fantastic personal achievements; with PB’s and first time marathoner’s crossing the finish line.

Results for the Blackpool Marathon & 10k – 24.4.16

This marathon is a two lap course and is very flat and run on Blackpool’s Promenade passing all the great landmarks and tourist spots.  The 10k was a one lap course.

Well done to Jonathan, who came 2nd in his age category.

Results for the Shakespeare (Stratford) Half Marathon – 24.4.16

This race held on the 400th Anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, meant a busy  weekend in Stratford.  The race started in Church Street and runners ran through the town centre for the first mile and then out over the Sanctus Bridge and on the Evesham Road towards Welford-on-Avon.  Just after 8 miles runners headed back towards Stratford with miles 10-12 run on the energy-zapping Greenway

Just before the 12 mile marker the marathoners headed off on their slightly longer second lap, while the half-marathoners carried on into Stratford under a bridge and towards the Recreation Ground and the finish.

Results for the Rock n Roll Madrid Half Marathon – 24.4.16

Lisa travelled to Spain for this half-marathon, which also had a 10k and marathon running at the same time.  The route headed north towards the Santiago Benabeu Stadium (the home of Real Madrid), between 6-7k the course then turned around and headed southwards.  The full and half distances ran together until runners reached the 14k point and the half route headed towards Parque de El Retiro, where there was a complete lap around the outside of the park before heading inside for the finish line.

Results for the Southampton 10k – 24.4.16

This 10k followed the same route as the half marathon for the first 7k of the course and was a mix of coast, city and parks.  The race stated in the Guildhall Square and had an unique ascent of the Itchen Bridge, runners at the top of the bridge were almost 100ft up with views up the river and out towards the Isle of Wight, on the descent from the bridge runners got a close up of St Mary’s (home of The Saints)

Results for the Pelsall 10k – 24.4.16

This race started on Pelsall Common, Walsall, and runners could choose from the 5k or 10k.   Mylene flew the Massey’s flag in the 10k race.
