Results for Milton Keynes Marathon & Half Marathon – 2.5.16

This route had been changed from last year.  The course kept the run up to the City Centre as in previous years, as these wide roads helped reduce the congestion at the start.  The half and full marathon shared the same route for the first 7 miles.

After 7 miles the half route went round Ouzel Valley Park, past Walton and Caldercotte Lakes and headed back to the MK Stadium.

The full route headed towards Milton Keynes Village, Bradwell Abbey which dates back to the 14th Century, the Roman ruins at Bancroft, Bradwell Windmill which was built in c1810 and St Andrews a 13th Century church in Manor Park.  The new route was a lot flatter, much more scenic and included numerous lakes, parks and the meandering grand union canal. And, the route takes in the famous Concrete Cows of Milton Keynes and also finished in the MK Stadium.  Unfortunately Elaine DNF due to injury.
