Results for the Brighton Marathon – 17.4.16
4 Massey Runners headed south for the Brighton Marathon which has become one of Europe’s largest marathons. The route started in a muddy Preston Park and headed towards the coast here runners headed east for the first 9 miles, the route then turned around and headed west along the coast passing iconic locations such as Brighton Marina, Royal Pavilion, and the Seafront, a couple more switches back along the coast and the finish line was just past Brighton Pier.

Results for the Regency 10k, Leamington Spa – 17.4.16
This local route was the same as it has been for the last few years, taking in Newbold Comyn golf course and the lower section of Leamington town centre. Runners followed a loop anti-clockwise round the golf course and after passing the Leisure Centre re-joined Newbold Terrace East and headed towards Victoria Park where there was a clockwise lap before runners ran on past the pump rooms and into Jephson gardens, with the finish in the field just the other side of the river.
With heavy rainfall the day before this run turned into a tale of two halves – with the first 5k muddy & boggy and the second half a lot faster on tarmac roads.
Well done to Martin Smith & Sylvia Guthrie who both came second in their age category and Angela McKay who came third in hers.
