Wolverhampton 5 mile Turkey Trot – 20.12.15

The usual 300+ turned up for the annual trip round God’s Own Town (that is according to Ross Cooper. Not a very good choice God however). But to be fair it did go through the suburbs and was a good event. It took place where 3 of us from Masseys did the Midlands 7m XC a few weeks ago but this time starting and finishing on the track not in an adjacent muddy field.

Only 1 other “local” runner was there and that was a Northbrook chap and many of the participants were “Santa look a likes” so I guess anyone could have been there.

The HQ at the Aldersley Village is a huge sports complex with track and all other sporting activities and a huge indoor sports hall plus superb showers.

Then after the final sprint down the track to the finish we collected our goodie bags with the usual stuff in it and of course a large frozen turkey breast. That’s the 25th Dec sorted then I guess-not sure if there’s enough for 9 mind you.

Don’t forget the Warwick Christmas Day 3.3m run in St Nicholas Park (New Bowling Green Pub is the HQ). Starts at 1030 and in its c50th year now.

Massey time:

Dave Phillips 50.57.
