Race report by David Phillips.
Well what a difficult run this was for the 297 runners as it was the 2nd in the series of 5 but this time it was in the clockwise direction. The first 4ks were all around the village and then all of a sudden in the village we turned left and all we could see was “going up a huge road hill”. This was really steep and as I had started early all I could do was shuffle up it on my own. Then gradually it got steeper and still the top was not anywhere to be seen. Eventually the top came into view but it had been a slow and very painful shuffle to get there. At least at the top (Warwickshire’s highest place) the views and counties all around were spectacular so I guess we were glad to be there.
The good news was that most of the rest of the run was downhill until the 9k mark and it was also difficult to run fast down near vertical roads!
Eventually we arrived at the road to the finish with yet another smallish hill in it but all was OK now and soon the finish came into sight so another day well spent.
All good at the finish where we were given the usual pack of sausages and in the pavilion for sale were food, coffee, drinks etc.
So well done again Rob and Sarah the organisers of Tempo Events Road races for doing this again-great.
The next one is 17/12/23 at Ilmington but on a course to be decided by Tempo as the 3rd in the series is always somewhere different. Roll on 17/12! Just a few places left so over to anyone who wants to do it. Look up Tempo Events.
