This popular May Day Bank Holiday event attracted loads of people for the
several events that Kenilworth Runners staged including races for kids. So
well done Ken. Keeps the kids and adults off the streets anyway.
The 10k is a 3 lapper and with 3 tough hills per lap the maths is simple. In
my case simple and tougher as the effects of the hills in the half the day
before lingered on. But the weather was kind and the sun shone on the 131
runners in the main event.
Seems odd that these hills don’t get any easier because when I was captain
at Kenilworth rugby club we used to pre season here and I made the lads
carry someone his shoulders for hill reps. No changes there then. Then when
I bought my offices 35 years ago just a few seconds from the highest point I
ran these fields almost daily.
Trust me those who haven’t run it they get steeper over the years.
